This whole story (or escapade) seems to be very contrived to me.  You mean to tell me that a 19 year old teenager was able to steal a plane in Indiana and deftly fly it to Sandy Point, Abaco in the Bahamas without having had any flight training at all?  I’m sure glad that I wasn’t flying in a passenger jet that may have been anywhere near the kid’s flight trail on that day!  And then you mean to tell me that he was able to deftly ditch the stolen plane near Sandy Point, Abaco, Bahamas and then find his way to the town of Marsh Harbour (Abaco), where he then proceeded to steal a power boat and impulsively steer his way to Governors Harbour, Eleuthera, Bahamas  (i.e., over 100 miles away)?  Then having done all this, he was then able to steer the same stolen power boat back up around the North Eleuthera, Bahamas area and over to Harbour Island, passing through all of the numerous coral head shoals that permeate that entire area without wrecking the stolen boat?  A trip through this area typically requires the help of a knowledgeable local captain during one’s initial attempt!  The whole thing seems too  surreal to me to have been done without any kind of pre-conceived knowledge and/or help from some “well heeled” sources.  But on the flip side, maybe the kid has a genius level IQ and enough instinctual survival skills intact to be able to pull something like this off without any help.  And if this ends up being the case (of which I’m dubious), then the US military needs to recruit this kid and get him onboard with the US Special Forces group ASAP!  In any case, Lady Luck really smiled on this kid for a long time (over 2 years), but due to his youth and immaturity he got cocky and pushed the envelope too hard for too long, with his luck finally running out after the engines of his stolen boat were shot out by the Bahamian Police during a midnight boat chase near Harbour Island.  In any case, I believe that this kid is a very intelligent and talented young man who perhaps just needs to be guided in the right direction by a positive mentor. Of course, this being after he repays society for his numerous (and sometimes dangerous) civic misdeeds!
