Professionally speaking, I’m a Senior Business Systems (IT) Consultant in Houston, TX, where I work primarily on the development and enhancement of energy-based business application software systems for major energy companies. The type of consulting work that I do for these companies typically involves the leveraging of my business knowledge, which is specific to the energy industry (i.e., currently the natural gas pipeline transportation sector), to the development & enhancement of energy applications software systems (i.e., includes programming). I have worked for many energy related firms over the years, and the typical energy application software system developed requires quite a depth of knowledge of both accounting and financial concepts, as well as a solid background in the interpretation and/or implementation of FERC tariffs (i.e., regulatory rules), which provide the basic foundations for how these systems are to be developed and/or enhanced.
